Grammarly is a proofreading feature that is always on. Every time you write, you’ll immediately get corrections and suggested ways to write a sentence. Installing the Grammarly plugin to Chrome was easy and the best decision I’ve made. The installation and use is free but you can get more services for a premium.

Click photo above to go to Grammarly. Best decision ever!

You don’t have to open a separate Word pad in order to use the spell check feature. If you’re online, writing a response to your e-mail on Gmail, or updating your social media feed in various social media sites, Grammarly will help correct the mistakes wherever you are on the web.

Before Grammarly, I was relying on the MS Word spell and grammar check feature. After a few days, I get back to my writing and then notice the mistakes I’ve made. Writing the cover letter and proofreading the resume is much easier and minimizes the mistakes. Grammarly guarantees all these before you hit the send button.

As a blogger, I always thought that blogging is a free form of writing, without too much processing or filtering the thought because it’s my personal space. It’s not a professional writing space. But, as years go by and I started booking paid written works, this is when proper use of grammar is most important. Thank goodness for Grammarly!

Save yourself the hassle and going back to old articles just to proofread. Install Grammarly now. It’ll make your life easier.

Are you planner or planning obsessed? Every year, choosing the planner to use gets difficult. Starbucks planner, Filofax, Kikki K, Doki, etc. sounds all good and promising.

This year, I'm lucky to get a hold of the Muji Schedule Note 2017 planner. It's in red, hard plastic cover and in the A5 size. Its clean, minimalist look is a change. The grid page after the weekly spread is a chance to work on my lettering or calligraphy skills.

The only downside I can say about this planner is the paper quality. I haven't tested it out yet but I feel the thin paper will cause some pen inks to bleed through the next page. Be careful about using ink pens on this planner.

Muji 2017 Planner is for Php795 only and is available at Muji stores.

What is your choice of planner for next year? Share them and send me a link in the comment section below. Thank you!

Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles? Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you ll never have to do it again.

Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever. The KonMari Method, with its revolutionary category-by-category system, leads to lasting results. In fact, none of Kondo s clients have lapsed (and she still has a three-month waiting list).

With detailed guidance for determining which items in your house spark joy (and which don't), this international bestseller featuring Tokyo s newest lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire."

The Philippines experiences only two of seasons, hot or sunny and the rainy seasons. When rainy seasons come, it's the time when we think about how sturdy the roof of the house is, the survival kit readiness and flooding readiness while on a daily commute to school or work.

We've weathered through many storms that at some areas, people just brush it off like any other storms or as an example, the Typhoon Sendong.

I bought the DVD copy of the "The Inconvenient Truth". The idea that we are slowly killing the Earth day by day and repairing it is going to cost us triple the amount is just too scary. Watch also like blockbuster films "The Day After Tomorrow", "Into the Storm" and the most recent, "San Andreas".

In the Philippines, we are taught to be ready. It shouldn't be the norm at all. We should all work together to make it all stop. Corporations should be charged triple the amount of tax for killing natural resources, for causing flooding, or for carbon emissions and more.

When I used to live and work in the big city, one of my favorite coffee shop is Starbucks. It's just at the ground floor of the office building. Before heading up to the office, I would grab a bagel which comes with a small packet of cream cheese and, of course, coffee.

S&R Blueberry Bagel and Emborg Cream Cheese in Classic flavor.

Eating breakfast at Starbucks can be costly and to even do it every day does break the bank. An affordable alternative and the best ones are always homemade.

I stopped by S&R Cagayan de Oro a few weeks back and picked up a pack of bagel and cream cheese. Bagel is a nice change to Pandesal.

What's your favorite breakfast combo?

Bullet journalling is a thing that has always confused me yet wanted to try for awhile. It's not as strict as a planner where there are days that I don't have anything so, there are more wasted paper or space on a planner.

My choice of journal is a Picadilly notebook.  Because of this, I am looking for colorful gels pens that don't bleed on my notebook page. After going to National Bookstore, I was interested in the Nano Slick Semi-Gel Ink Pen.

Bullet Journal

Nano Slick Semi-Gel Ink Pen
  • A superior hybrid of ballpoint and gel pen
  • Convenient side-action button
  • Professional Pigment ink
  • Extra smooth writing
  • Waterproof, non-fading, acid-free
  • Consistent write out and line density
You can buy this set in National Bookstore for Php 165 only. The pen nib is about 0.6mm wide. The assorted color choices in a set are the same, you cannot customize yet still so much fun. The ink doesn't bleed through the next page on my Picadilly notebook. Thank goodness!

What pens are you using for your bullet journal or planner? Let me know in the comments below.

We've seen many beauty and lifestyle Youtubers talking about favorite scents and candles. They always talk about brands that are not readily available in the Philippines.

Worry not. Jealous much no more. Here's a new brand, Happy Island Candles, that is equally cool and  comes in scents made for the Philippines weather.

Happy Island Candles comes in soy candles, travel tin & candle melts.

Happy Island Candles

All Happy Island Soy Candles are hand poured and are wonderfully scented
to help you relax and enjoy life and living! #lighthappiness

Full sized soy candles are sold for Php350 at 120ml  size and the 240ml is for Php450 only. The travel tin candles are sold for Php200. Nice way to travel and always have comfort scents in a foreign land. Candle melts are sold for Php250 a piece. Not very bad for a price range. Affordable!

I am impressed with their e-commerce website. It's something that older Philippines companies don't have. Shipping is free if your order totals above Php700. I'm curious how the "Summer Scent" and "Salted Caramel" soy candle smell like.

Let's support Pinoy brands and businesses. They are located at Retail Lab, 2nd Flr, Archeology, Powerplant Mall. Follow their social pages on Facebook and Instagram. Shop online here.
